Until the global coronavirus pandemic, a team of MissionAssist volunteers regularly travelled to the Bible Society library to scan rare and fragile scriptures, located within the University Library in Cambridge UK. We are very grateful to have found alternative sources of images for now, including commercially produced scans paid for by a generous grant. If we can return to the University Library in the future, we will invite members living in the Cambridge area to reform the scanning team.

Our custom scanning kit was developed to use digital cameras, laptop computers with dedicated software, and a supportive cradle for the book being scanned. The books must be handled carefully and worked through meticulously page by page.

Watch our scanning kit in action.

Qualifications: Live in easy reach of Cambridge, UK. Availability to dedicate one or two working days to a task at a time.
