About My Referee
If you want your application to be considered for a grant, you must tell us about an independent person who will give a reference for you. This helps us make sure every grant goes to a genuine project.
- My referee is:
- in a different Christian organisation
- My referee is not:
- my close relative
- in my project team
- the person who supervises my work
- the person who leads my organisation
- the person who will oversee the use of the grant
- the person who has responsibility for money for the project
- My referee knows:
- me well
- about my project
- My referee has said yes:
- to providing a reference to MA
- to me giving their personal details to MA
- I can provide, without typing mistakes:
- my referee’s name
- my referee’s email address
- the name of my referee’s organisation
- a working link for their website address, official social media page or other online site that shows my referee’s organisation is real
- a description of how I know this person and how many years I have known them
- I will not write:
- my own name instead of an independent person
- my own email address instead of the referee’s email address
- “N/A”, “nil”, “none”, or “not applicable” instead of giving information about the referee’s organisation and website
About The Project
If you want your application to be considered for a grant, you must tell us about one specific project which is already planned and already has some support.
- My project has:
- a title
- a short description in one sentence
- a timetable
- the support of other people in my community/organisation
- My project is not:
- for the personal benefit of myself or my family
- for ongoing or repeated costs such as food, rent, salary, education fees
- a large fundraising appeal
- The information I am providing is:
- all about one project
- consistent and not contradictory
- explaining the whole project
- explaining the part of the project that the grant money from MA will be used for
- The information I provide is not:
- a mixture of information about different projects
About Money for The Project
If you want your application to be considered for a grant, you must explain the total cost of the project, where the money will come from, and exactly what the grant from MA will fund.
- I can provide a number amount for:
- the total cost of the project or an estimate of the total cost
- the money that has already been raised
- the grant money requested from MA
- any more money that is needed to reach the total cost
- I can provide information about:
- when, how and from where money has already been raised
- any pledges or promises of money
- the contribution of local people
- when, how and from where more money will be raised, if necessary
- I can list the estimated price in sterling (GBP) £ for
- all the costs for the project, item by item
- precisely which items I want the grant money from MA to pay for
